Allgemeine SS Nachrichten 13 Uniform
Here we have a really incredible and rare Allgemeine SS tunic belonging to a musician of Nachrichtensturmbann 13 (signals). The unit was attached to the Oberabschnitt 'Rhein-Westmark' which was stationed at Wiesbaden.
This uniform is made of wool and is a typical RZM-issued piece. Regrettably, the RZM-tag was been removed at some point over the past century. Nonetheless, it is clearly an RZM-issued, high-quality piece.
The “schwalbenesten” are attached to the shoulders with hooks, placed in 5 loops per shoulder, and are in perfect condition. One has a paper RZM tag inside. The shoulderboard is a very nice example with black/silver twisted cord and is smoothly stitched into the seam connecting the sleeve to the tunic. The collar, like the collar tabs, is piped in black and silver twisted piping. The signals tab is a fantastic bullion example which shows the unit NaRi 13 with the typical “blitz.” The left tab shows the rank of unterscharführer. The front of the tunic includes the typical 2 breast pockets with flaps and 2 integrated lower pockets with flaps to the outside only. All buttons are RZM and SS marked. The left breast pocket includes 2 set of loops and there are also 2 loops above that pocket to hold a small medal bar, likely for 3 or 4 medals. The left sleeve has a typical armband, which is also marked with a paper RZM tag inside. The back shows the well-known belt support hooks which are also RZM marked.
The bullion signals insignia and blank cufftitle were professionally restored (at the current owner’s order). Prior to this minor “restoration,” there were obvious shadows where signals insignia were previously attached. Overall, this is an unbelievably nice Allgemeine SS tunic in very fine condition. No holes, moth damage or tears or whatsoever. Rarely do these hit the open market.
The tunic does not include the brown shirt, tie, party badge, badges, medal bar, or lanyard pictured.
